Description:
YMCA Bridge Project is a program which connects young ex-offenders with meaningful employment opportunities to help them break the cycle of crime.
Since 2006, Bridge Project has partnered with more than 100 businesses to change the lives of over 500 people and counting.
Throughout the recruitment process and term of employment, both employers and participants are fully supported by our specialised case managers to ensure a holistic level of support targeting the many challenges faced by this cohort. Highly experienced, the Bridge Project Team has and continues to directly impact on the lives of these disadvantaged young people. Beyond connecting young people with employment opportunities, the Bridge Project also provides employment and life-skills training for young people in both correctional centres and the community through its facility maintenance social enterpise; YMCA ReBuild. By working with participants in both sectors ReBuild provides a continuous employment pathway from prison to the community.
Previous companies that have hired young people through Bridge Project include Serco (Parks and Gardens), Broadspectrum, KPMG, Civilex and CPB Contractors.
